I was visiting Finn of A Life Less Ordinary where she was explaining how Finn isn’t really her name. That got me to thinking…
Obviously my name isn’t archshrk but back when I started blogging, I knew it wasn’t a good idea to be so transparent. So I used my Internet Identity and refrained from making any personal references in an effort to protect me and my family from crazed blog fans. I did tell my family about it and to my surprise, I can’t pay them to read it. My wife only reads it because I set up an email subscription for her. My secret life was safe so long as nobody commented and I didn’t reply if they did. That’s all over now since I have developed a few loyal fans and they often comment “hey [real name], I love this post…” or something similar. So if you are just dieing to know my real name, read every post or comment that has ever been made on this site. Or leave a comment worthy of a reply.
Now I did reveal my name in one post a while back so if you’re looking for something fun, try to find that post. I’ll offer a super special prize* to the first person to correctly identify the post. To claim your prize, simply leave a comment in said post that reads “FOUND YOU”. That way, those who are still playing won’t be denied the joy of searching. Oh, and if you already know my real name, don’t use a search tool – that would be cheating. Good luck!
I’m too lazy to go hunting. I’ll just wait until someone leaves it in the comments ;)
I have given my site to a lot of local readers, so I am not entirely free to say what I like on my blog (I have a private blog for that). My mom won’t read my blog, but my in-laws do and my husband does (he’s really possessive and likes to check out the comments the men leave, rofl). It’s funny how I have some local readers that I don’t even know about. though…I had a girl come up to me one day at Wal-Mart and said that she reads my blog EVERY DAY and just LOVES IT…I was SO surprised!! You never know who’s watching ya! ;)
Aw, phooey….nobody’s come to help me out yet??
Seems to be a popular blog topic lately. “Should I keep blogging?”
As a writer, and crave the outlet, so I’ll likely continue barring some unimaginable event. And I’m using my real name because I can’t think of a better one for me. :) Though I do envy those like yourself who come up with interesting ones. It does lend some color to the blog writing.
Thanks for stopping by today.

“I can’t pay them to read it.”
I had to laugh out loud when I first read this. Your fam sounds just like mine: sometimes, I wonder if my parents even watch when I’m on television. Their friends often shame them into reading me when I’m published in the paper. Oh well….my wife and kids think it’s amazing, and that’s all that matters.
And you know, I’ll always read you. You’re just that great a read.
