Making Money

When I started this site, I wanted to take advantage of the advertising opportunities that go with having a website. Sadly, not many people are interested in advertising on my site (I know, go figure) but luckly, there was money to be had. First, Google Adsense (the ads typically seen in the right hand column) was more than willing to take advantage of me – I mean my site. Secondly, Amazon was also there for me. Actually, I started with Amazon because the signup process was easier and seemed more profitable.

The Amazon Associates program was the first online affiliate program of its kind when it launched in 1996. Today, it is the largest and most successful online affiliate program, with over 1,000,000 members world-wide. If you are a Web site owner, Amazon seller, or Web developer, you can start earning money today and earn up to 10% in referral fees.

In reality, I don’t get enough traffic to say which one is better, but there you have it. Now for the good news… I finally earned enough to get paid! With Amazon, you get paid every month, but not until you earn $10. Today, I finally broke the elusive $10 mark (and it only took me 18 months). So how does this affect you? Simple, just use my link when you want to visit amazon.com. When you make a purchase, I will receive a referal fee. The more items people buy, the higher my fee rate goes.
