The Theocracy of Archshrk is a tiny, safe nation, notable for its burgeoning Hamster population. Its hard-nosed population of 5 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, socially-minded morass — juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Healthcare, and Education. The average income tax rate is 38%, but much higher for the wealthy. A tiny private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.
Crime is well under control, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Archshrk’s national animal is the Hamster, which frolics freely in the nation’s many lush forests, and its currency is the Angst.
