It’s all fun and games…

One eyed Willy

…until somebody loses an eye.

You may recall my excitement about getting two of my favorite games recently. One, Settlers of Catan (Mayfair Games), I found on eBay for a great price. And the seller sent the game right away, in great condition. The resource cards were still in their wrappers. Julia and I played a two-person version of the game the very next night. Julia won.

Pirate’s Cove (Days of Wonder) was from an online retailer so it was going to take a little longer to be delivered. Even with the slow processing of my shipment, I was hoping to get it in time for our 4th of July get-together. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.

Greetings from,

We’re sorry, but the following order from [online retailer] has been canceled
because the items you purchased were out of stock. Please return and
attempt to purchase again at a later time.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Goonies Pirate Ship

In case you are wondering, the site uses to process it’s orders. Unfortunately, there seems to be a bigger problem than just being “out of stock”. They’re out of business. It’s unclear what happened but after getting this email, I returned to find the site no longer exists.

Have you tried Cities & Knights of Catan yet? Some friends & I play most Monday eves. It ups the ante quite a bit as you collect commodities as well as resources. Enjoy!

Have your say:
