…until somebody loses an eye.
You may recall my excitement about getting two of my favorite games recently. One, Settlers of Catan (Mayfair Games), I found on eBay for a great price. And the seller sent the game right away, in great condition. The resource cards were still in their wrappers. Julia and I played a two-person version of the game the very next night. Julia won.
Pirate’s Cove (Days of Wonder) was from an online retailer so it was going to take a little longer to be delivered. Even with the slow processing of my shipment, I was hoping to get it in time for our 4th of July get-together. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.
Greetings from Amazon.com,
We’re sorry, but the following order from [online retailer] has been canceled
because the items you purchased were out of stock. Please return and
attempt to purchase again at a later time.We apologize for any inconvenience.
In case you are wondering, the site uses Amazon.com to process it’s orders. Unfortunately, there seems to be a bigger problem than just being “out of stock”. They’re out of business. It’s unclear what happened but after getting this email, I returned to find the site no longer exists.

I recognized One-eyed Willie right off the bat! Love Goonies! Good luck with getting your game.
Have you tried Cities & Knights of Catan yet? Some friends & I play most Monday eves. It ups the ante quite a bit as you collect commodities as well as resources. Enjoy!
