Halo fellowship

So tomorrow, Julia leaves for a women’s retreat and will be gone all weekend. Which is fine since I scheduled my (hopefully) last exam for Friday afternoon and plan to be busy around the house while she’s out. Painting mostly but a couple of other projects if I get to them. Actually, it’s because she’ll be away that I’m doing these things. I don’t function well when she’s not there. I get into a weird funk and forget to eat and stuff, so keeping busy will really help.

On the plus side, some of the guys are getting together for Halo Fellowship Friday night. That’s where we men gather to discuss theology and stuff in the form of Halo 3 on the Xbox 360. I’m not a console gamer so my skillz are a bit lacking in general. Playing with guys who have more than few hours experience makes it even harder to compete, but there are several of us newbs so it should still be fun. The down side is my wireless controller dosn’t work with the Xbox 360.

Can you use the old xbox controller for the xbox 360 and new games for the xbox 360? – I’m asking if my friend can use his old xbox controller to play halo3 on my xbox 360
Best Answer: NO. You can only use 360 controllers on 360 consoles. 360 controlers are usb ports so you can use them on new computers and play some games like Flight Simulator X. You can buy a wired for $40 or a wireless for $50.

Despite this, we should be able to gather enough controllers to fill all the seats. If not, maybe we should invest in one or two more. In the mean time, check out these Halo 3 Trailers to get an idea why it’s such an exciting game.

The gameplay of Halo 3 builds upon the previous iterations of the franchise; it is a first-person shooter which takes place on foot, but also includes segments focused on vehicular combat. The balance of weapons and objects in the game was adjusted to better adhere to what Bungie Studios Multiplayer Designer Lars Bakken describes as the “Golden Triangle of Halo”. These are “weapons, grenades, and melee”, all three of which are normally available to a player. Halo 3 also contains the ability to dual-wield, where a player forgoes both grenades and melee attacks in favor of the combined firepower of two weapons simultaneously. Most weapons available in previous installments of the series return with minor cosmetic and power alterations. Unlike previous installments, all weapons a player is carrying are visible; weapons not in use are holstered or slung across the player’s back. Halo 3 also introduced “support weapons”, which are exceptionally large, powerful and cumbersome two-handed weapons such as machine gun turrets and flamethrowers. These weapons drastically limit the player’s normal combat options and slow them significantly. In return, they offer greatly increased firepower. In addition to new weapons, Halo 3 added a new class of usable items called Equipment. These items have various effects and functions, ranging from defensive screens to shield regeneration and enemy confusion.

Halo 3 also features a strong vehicular component, with new vehicles never before seen added in the third installment of the series. Most vehicles can be used by the player, but some are A.I.-controlled. Certain vehicles usable in campaign are not available by default in multiplayer due to balance concerns; similarly, some vehicles are only found in multiplayer.

  1. I am definitely not a gamer. My computer skills and interests end at blogging, email and documents. Our son bought the new X-box 360 Elite a month or so ago, and already beat on Legendary. I have no clue what that means. Have fun while the wife is away.

  2. @ Dawn – Legendary is the game setting that is hardest to beat. Typically it means more enemies, less ammo, you’re weaker and your opponents are tougher. I’ve heard a lot of criticism about how HALO 3 wasn’t as satisfying as the previous versions were but I imagine the online playing will make up for it.

  3. You know son, when your mother’s away at retreat, I can’t sleep and I get very bored. Even after ALL these years, so don’t feel alone
