I’ve been meaning to write about our trip to Minnesota but with work and studying for the LEED Exam, I haven’t gotten around to it. In fact, I’ve been pretty off-line since before our trip, only checking emails and scanning my RSS feeds to keep it from piling up too much. The good news is, Julia hasn’t been burdened so (although she’s been off-line for other reasons)
We woke up bright and early on June 4th to make our way to the airport. Unfortunately we didn?t have quite the results we were expecting in more ways than one. First, we missed our 8:30am flight by a few minutes. Second, the next available plane wasn?t boarding till 11:30am. Third, no nap could possibly mean a horrible flight for him, for us, and all around us. We woke up bright and early on June 4th to make our way to the airport. Also, be sure and take a look at her new site design. I cannibalized a couple of themes and could really use your feedback on what works and what doesn’t. Keep in mind Julia likes the black background and the top image thing, everything else is flexible. Just make sure you leave your feedback here since I’m the code monkey, not Julia.
[nag] Your quote above is very déjà vu (though fine on the real page) and I can’t read the comments for some reason…[/nag]
Thanks, turns out the background color for trackbacks was set to white as was the font. I’ve made some tweaks to font colors and sizes but I think it needs a lot more attention.
Hmmm.
I like the graphic menu at the top (though that was there before?). The ‘expecting’ picture is a bit more… pregnant than I usually see. Wow.
I guess my main issue is that, apart from a few horizontal lines, there isn’t a lot of ‘niceties’ – like the squares below your main header and above each of the major section titles.
While black/white/brown ‘works’ – at least in the sense it doesn’t clash, it doesn’t exactly thrill me either.
The top ‘logo’ is
a bitvery plain.Though I haven’t got to *my* webpage yet, so it’s all well and good for me to call out something that’s at least up and running…. : P
The “plainness” of it bothers me too. I started with a good design, added the image navigation from another theme and converted the whole thing from a white background to black.
Unfortunately, I’ve not put enough time into it and don’t have the graphic skills to embellish it. Once I finish studying for my LEED exam I think I’ll put some real effort into making it work well. That means looking for a new starter theme to build upon…
