As many of you know, I live in the San Diego area. An area that is experiencing the worst fire storm since the 2003 Cedar Fire – maybe worse. Luckily for us, we are not in any immediate danger nor does it look like we will be at risk – but things change. During the 2003 Fires, many homes were destroyed including those in the Crest area – where my In-Laws live. In fact, their whole neighborhood was affected and half the homes were destroyed. They were spared but another fire (the Harris Fire) along the Mexico border could follow the path of the 2003 fires. Julia works with her mom out of her mom’s house.
Ramona, Poway and Rancho Bernardo are currently the most effected by the Witch Creek Fire. Several coworkers are impacted by the fire and subsequent smoke and ash. Poway Unified School District, which I work with, canceled school district-wide due to air quality conditions. Qualcom Stadium, where the Chargers play, has become an Evacuation Center.
More to follow. Here’s a map of the Southern California Fires…

Luke, I hope you and Julia are safe! I’ll keep you in prayer. We have a soon-to-be sister church, Grace Church, in Rancho Bernardo, so I’ve been lifting them up as well.
