Jamaican cell phoneI reported this unsolicited call to the National Do Not Call Registry but I wanted to share it with you in case you are getting these calls too. See (and hear) the recorded message below.

Reference Number is 748-9632. As of January 3rd, 2011, the federal government has instructed. All lenders to assist distressed homeowners in modifying their mortgages to make your mortgage payments more affordable with no upfront fees. This includes principal reduction. We are implementing this procedure. Under Civil Code 2981. If you are not a home owner or are not interested IN be negotiating your home loan, press 3 it is important that we do everything possible to keep you when you’re home and not allow you to go to foreclosure press 5 now to be transferred to the renegotiation department to lower your mortgage payments, press 5, to renegotiate your mortgage. – Mortgage-Scam-Message

They have called several times.

    I’m outside of the US, so I (probably) won’t get that one. A few months ago we got the “oh no, your computer is majorly infected with viruses” calls in town though.

    They called SIX TIMES today, 2/21/11 — at 5:13pm, 5:02pm, 4:57pm, 4:43pm, and 9:13am.

    Evidently the Federal Trade Commission doesn’t give a rat’s ass. We got a call tonight, APRIL 12, 2011. Guess no one is going to do anything about them.
