My Brute

Before I get back to Comic-Con stories, I thought you could use a little diversion.

My Brute is a simple combat game where all the upgrades and training and skill building is automatic. In fact, the only thing you control is who to fight.

To be a Brute…Insert a name to create your own Brute. You will be able to fight against other Brutes in the arena and recruit new pupils. Gain experience and fight tough in the ranking to become… THE BRUTE!

Just be sure to change your appearance before you ‘validate’ since there doesn’t seem to be a way to change it afterwards. I just used the one they gave me which seems to be randomly generated (as you type) anyway.

Which made me all excited until I realized, most of that was spam comments (as was the case for comment #70,000). None-the-less, I thought I’d share with you some relevant stats about my site in case anyone was interested.

This is a very special Thanksgiving Day for me this year. First, it’s my birthday (today) and normally that’s a bummer but this year I don’t care. My son is due to be born within the next few weeks and, in general, things are going pretty well for us. Sure there are some scary moments but overall, I feel blessed. Thanks to the generous gifts, abundant support and wonderful love and advice from family and friends, we feel very prepared for what’s to come. Everyone tries to tell us that “you can’t prepare for how a new baby changes things” but I think you can feel prepared or feel unprepared and that alone makes a difference. Of course there will be surprises, but how we adapt and handle them depends on what mindset we have when the unknown presents itself.

Many of us tend to view Thanksgiving Day as a memorial to God’s providential care over the forefathers of our great country as they settled in the “new world,” but we must also remember that God has just as graciously showered us with many blessings–not the least of which is the incredible provision of His Son who lived, died, and rose again on behalf of His people! And through Jesus, God has promised to us a truly new world (Rom. 4:13; II Peter 3:13), a heavenly country (Heb. 11:13-16), an eternal city (Heb. 11:9-10; 12:22-24), an unshakable kingdom (Heb. 12:28-29) of which He has made us citizens (Phil. 4:20)!

I have to confess – I have an addiction (one of many)

I have suddenly found myself wasting many precious moments playing a new game online. But this is no ordinary game. It has monkeys and balloons – but no clowns. The object is to pop balloons that are traveling through a maze like path before they reach the other end. Bloons Tower Defense 2 is has all the fun of a strategy game and all the action of, well, an action game. You purchase various tower types to defend against the onslaught of colorful balloons. Each tower offers different defenses and certain combinations (plus upgrades) will give you the best chance of eliminating the threat of balloon infestation.

A friend of mine shared this perfect ice breaker question for use at a party where nobody knows each other (say…a movie premier)

What is the one correct way to make a peanut butter sandwich?

Seems simple enough until you start getting into the details. What kind of bread, toasted or plain, PB on one side and Jelly on the other, what kind of jelly, how much, cut diagonally, straight, not cut at all …

You have to start with the basics. Take out the bread (Potato Bread), Skippy Peanut Butter – Super Chunky, and Strawberry Preserves (aka jelly). Lightly toast the bread so it has some strength when you plaster on a thick layer of peanut butter. The toasting helps soften the peanut butter so it spreads easier too. Now when you put the peanut butter on, remember to carve out a little crater in the center of the peanut butter. You’ll need this to catch the jelly. Once you put a healthy helping of jelly on, fold it into the peanut butter so that you have even distribution. You’ll need to fold it so that the peanut butter and jelly bond together to keep the jelly from squeezing out. Now that you’ve properly folded the PB&J together form a little mound in the center. This way, when you place the second slice of bread on top and squish it together, the mound flattens out to the edges without spilling out. Pour yourself a glass of milk and enjoy.
