This seat can be used as a forward facing booster(in Indiana State Laws) until he reaches state requirement, with a weight of 100 lbs. He had the seat rear facing until he was not quite 20 months(I had the proper people inspect my set-up, and they had him rear facing a bit longer than standard.).
