From THE STORY OF PURPLE HAT

One of the most respectable theologians working right now is Paul Helm. He is a regular contributer on Reformation 21 as well as blogging on his own site: Paul Helms Deep.

There is currently a lot of archaeological work going on in secret in the Middle East due to the fact that both Jews and Muslims are not keen on Christians finding more evidence to support our claims of
historical truth. Recently, through a friend in Jerusalem, a major find has surfaced and recently been translated into modern English. Helm shares this here. I share it here because it is directly related
to the birth of Christ told from the perspective of an olive tradesman that supposedly conversed with the lead Magi (called Purple hat). Really interesting stuff. Certainly not canonical, but supports everything the gospel writer’s put to parchment and gives some added details surrounding the story. You’ll definitely see why both the archaeologist and translator want to remain anonymous.
