Luke, my wife and I went to Kauai for our 10th anniversary last year. It was awesome!!!! I highly recommend getting the book, Ultimate Kauai Guidebook by Doughty. In fact, if you want, if you email me your address, I'll mail you my copy. Then when you return, you can just mail it back to me.

If you like hiking, the Napaili coast has an awesome hike with a waterfall. In the south at Poi Pu, there is great snorkling. Get some frozen peas from the super market and bring it into the water with you. The fish come out in droves! We also kayaked the Wailua River. And we ate Sunday brunch at the Princeville hotel. It was pricey (about 50 per person), but the view and the food made it worth it for us. If I can think of other things, I'll post. Man, I wish I was going again. Have a blast!

I've never been to Hawaii. But if I've learned anything from "The Brady Bunch", I would advise you not to pick up any tiki gods, unless you want to risk being wiped out in the surf or having some large spider crawl over you.

Oh, and the worse thing that could happen...is that you could return home with an unfortunate Brady-like perm.
