I'm not really religious, in fact, sometimes I get really frustrated by organized religion, BUT, I think that it is better to hear about all religions than take religion completely out of school. I would rather have a different group represented every morning with words of wisdom on the school intercom than have no message at all. Therefore, I don't think there is anything wrong with hot-crossed buns even if they were all about Easter or whatever. Maybe if we started being more tolerant of each other's religions and beliefs, and realized the similarities we have when we believe, then maybe the world would be more peaceful (which is what most religions want in the first place, right?). So just eat your hot-crossed bun and shut the f#@k up!!! LOL. Just kidding!!!

This is another totally RETARD move by the PC fanatics. When are we going to stand up and fight back. I don't mind who worships what, but STOP taking every symbol of my life away because you are offended. Crosses on bread...these people should be flogged with hot cross buns!

I think they're going to have to revisit the aquatic center near our house. The giant girders that support the roof meet at a right angle. Since I do not worship the cross, I'm going to assume that I should be offended by this. I think a structure supported by stars of david or ankhs or little pyramids would be better.

Damn, the PC-ites are winning!

How absurd. Plus, I always thought the "hot cross" meant "angry" or something!! LOL ... who knew?

This is actually a really interesting topic. I suppose in my opinion meanings are given to objects by people or organizations and we can accept them or reject them. I personally never had any idea that hot cross buns were religious in nature--I just knew that they were in a nursery rhyme I've known for ages! I think it's a bit overly sensitive to allow yourself to be offended over a bit of bread, particularly when it's not being served in any sort of religious context. But that's just my opinion, and I can certainly see the other side of the situation.
